Three men have been charged over a bank robbery in Manukau, Auckland last month.

A Kiwibank branch was hit on February 20.

"This was a very violent robbery where a sledgehammer was used to smash the internal entry to access the bank tellers and the money," Detective Senior Sergeant Albie Alexander said in a statement.

The men aged 24, 29 and 33 are set to appear in Manukau District Court tomorrow on charges of aggravated robbery.
