State Highway 12 in Northland closed because of five-hectare fire started by a water blaster

State Highway 12 in Northland has been closed because of a five-hectare fire on a private property that was caused by a water blaster.

Two helicopters and nine crews are working to put out the blaze in Mamaranui, in the Kaipara District, which destroyed the house on the property.

There is no sign of injuries and no further properties are threatened at this moment.
