Person dies in motorbike crash in Canterbury

One person has died following a motorcylce crash in Mackenzie District in Canterbury. 

Emergency services were called to the crash on State Highway 79 in Middle Valley just before 1pm today. 

Police say the motorcyclist was transported to hospital where they later died.

The Serious Crash Unit has been notified.
