A piece of artwork has disappeared from Auckland's Dominion Road, and has left locals baffled.
It's a sculpture called OnDo and it's almost five metres tall, depicting noodles and chopsticks.
It stood proudly about quarter of the way down Dominion Road.
That was, until, it disappeared in April 2017.
The OnDo Noodle Sculpture has been part of the Mt Eden skyline since it’s erection in 2015.
It was commissioned by the Albert-Eden Local Board and sculptured by Korean-born New Zealand artist Seung Yul Oh, costing around $40,000.
The artwork divided the community.
“I thought it was so awful that somebody took an axe to it,” one man Seven Sharp spoke to said on Dominion Road.
Auckland Council confirmed to Seven Sharp that the sculpture was removed last year due to intentional damage.
After repairs, the sculpture was put in storage until now.
OnDo will be re-installed in a new position at the corner of Dominion and Balmoral Road.
The repairs cost $4651.
