Group of six rescued in Northland after boat crashes into rocks

A group of six people have been rescued by members of the public after their boat crashed into rocks and began to sink in Northland. 

Police told 1 NEWS the boaties were then taken to shore. 

Police received a call to the incident in Kowharewa Bay near Tutukaka at around 4.35pm yesterday.

By the time police had arrived all those on board the boat had been rescued.
