Israel Adesanya to defend UFC middleweight title against Yoel Romero

Israel Adesanya (18-0) will defend his middleweight title against Cuban Yoel Romero at UFC 248 in Las Vegas in March, the UFC confirmed yesterday.

The fight, which is Adesanya’s first defence after he won the unified title against Robert Whittaker in October, is the co-main event at T-Mobile Arena on March 7.

Romero, 42, is an Olympic silver medallist in wrestling with a 13-4 record in the UFC.
