Person seriously injured after falling from cliff

A person is in a serious condition after falling off a cliff in to the water near Pukearuhe, 50 kilometres north of New Plymouth.

Police were alerted to the incident around seven this morning.

A police spokesperson said the person was transported to Waikato Hospital by helicopter. 

Ambulance and fire services were also in attendance.
