Fierce winds rip part of roof off industrial building in Cromwell

Strong winds battering parts of the South Island have blown part of a roof off a business in Cromwell.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand was called to R & R Services at about 3.45pm today to help secure the roof of the building.

An entire partition was ripped off the roof during a spate of high winds which are currently affecting the region.

There were no other reports of damage.
