Build it and they will come just isn't working for the Government's troubled Kiwibuild scheme.
1 News has obtained more evidence that people aren't buying the newly-built homes.
In one Auckland development, just one out of ten houses has sold, and that's after being on the market for four months.
The Government's already backtracked on its promise to build a thousand Kiwibuild houses by this July, its own figures showing just 62 homes actually completed.
And there are 279 under construction, so that’s quite a big shortfall on its ambitious flagship programme.
