Several fire crews battle Mangere chemical spill

Emergency services were called to a commercial property on Verissimo Drive in Mangere after reports of a chemical spill around 9pm.

A Fire and Emergency spokesperson told 1NEWS seven fire trucks, two hazardous material units and 35 fire officers were still working to determine what the chemical is, but it was not at risk of spreading to nearby properties.

No injuries have been reported.
