A child has died after suffering accidental injuries in Wellington on Friday night.
A police spokesperson told 1 NEWS emergency services were called to a property in Aotea to a reports a child had been critically injured.
"Sadly, efforts to revive the child were unsuccessful and they died at the scene."
It appears the death was the result of an accident and the matter will be referred to the Coroner, the spokesperson said.
