The All Blacks were warned over potentially dangerous tackles before heading to this year's World Cup in Japan, prop Joe Moody has revealed.
With both Australia's Reece Hodge and Samoa's Rey Lee-Lo picking up three-match bans for their respective tackles against Fiji and Russia, the spotlight has intensified on the refereeing and punishment of dangerous play.
A report from World Rugby today also revealed that Hodge had no knowledge of the current framework and sanctions.
The All Blacks have also come under scrutiny for captain Kieran Read's high tackle against South Africa's Pieter-Steph du Toit, however no further action has been taken.
Speaking to media in Beppu today, Moody and Codie Taylor were asked for their takes on the furore around high tackles at the current World Cup.
"We have been told and pointed out what all the suspensions and everything are, and how they're characterised," Moody said.
"We have been sat down before the start of the tournament, pretty sure it was before we even came over here [to Japan], and told what everything is as far as what they're looking at, how long suspensions are for everything.
