All Blacks prop Joe Moody was left to answer a bizarre question about front rowers' body fat percentages, fronting media in Beppu, Japan this afternoon.
As the front row pair of Moody and Codie Taylor addressed media at the All Blacks' team hotel, the prop was asked about where he was currently registering on the scales, with the modern day forwards sporting a leaner, meaner look about themselves.
However, that new look hasn't crossed over into the front rowers yet, with props still sporting a more hefty look across world rugby in 2019.
Asked about the current situation today, Moody said that his build was necessary for the work of the modern day front rower.
"It's good to have a bit of extra cushion for the pushin'" he joked.
"But at the same time, you don't want to be carrying around too much extra. Then you're just carrying around extra weight for nothing.
"It's good to have a little bit there for taking those contacts, bumps, bruises and that."
Moody was also asked about the tolerated levels of body fat within the All Blacks, to which he replied:
"We don't do it percentage, we do ours in skinfolds and millimetres.
"I'm pretty sure all of our props and front row are under 90mm."
