One injured after car crashes into Christchurch retirement village

One person has been injured after a car crashed into a retirement village in Christchurch.

Emergency services were called the scene at about 6.20pm on Hennessy Place in Spreydon.

The car had crashed into the building and one person inside the building sustained serious injuries.

The driver of the vehicle received minor injuries.

Both involved were taken to Christchurch Hospital.
