One person suffers serious injuries after assault in Christchurch

One person has been seriously injured after a fight.

St John told 1 NEWS emergency services were called to Glenroy St in Woolston shortly before 8am today.

One person was taken to Christchurch Hospital with serious injuries.

Police told 1 NEWS it was called following a report of a "physical altercation between two parties".

Police are making inquiries.
