One person dead after crash involving car and pedestrian north of Huntly

One person has died following a crash between a car and pedestrian in Waikato early this morning.

The incident occurred on Te Ohaki Road, in Rangiriri West, at around 12:15am, police said.

No else was injured in the incident.

The serious crash unit has examained the scene.

Police are investigating the circumstances behind the crash.

Today's crash marks the second incident involving a car and pedestrian this morning, after one person was killed in the Bay of Plenty.
