Investigation underway after 'human remains' found in Northland scrubland

A police investigation is underway after human remains were found in Northland scrubland today.

At around 12.30pm, police received a report of possible human remains located in scrubland in Taipa.

Police say they are making inquiries, but at this early stage it appears that the remains have been in place for some time.

A scene examination will be carried out today and tomorrow.
