Crash at intersecting highways in Karapiro closes road

One person has been seriously injured after a truck and car collided in Karapiro.

Emergency services were called to the crash at the intersection of State Highways 1 and 29 about 10.35am.

The road is currently obstructed, and will be closed for a period of time while a vehicle is removed, police said in a statement.

Diversions will be in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
