Teenager in hospital after being shot in south Auckland overnight

A teenage boy is in hospital in a serious condition after being shot during an incident in Otara, Auckland overnight.

Police said the teen is undergoing surgery after being shot on Featherston Crescent just before 11pm last night.

The scene is under guard and police have begun an investigation.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Counties Manukau Police on 09 261 1321.
