Number of measles cases on the rise in Auckland

The number of measles cases in Auckland is on the rise.

There are now 45 people infected with the disease.

That number is up from 34 this time last week, a further 40 people are in quarantine.

The Auckland Regional Public Health Service is contacting more than 2,000 people who may have been exposed to measles.

Across the country the number of people with the disease remains high.

There are 21 confirmed cases in the Bay of Plenty, 39 in Christchurch and two in the Wellington region.
