Child in serious condition after being hit by vehicle in South Auckland

A child is in a serious condition after being hit by a vehicle in South Auckland this afternoon.

Police say the incident happened on Ashton Ave, Otara around 3pm.

Ashton Ave is currently closed between Otara Road and Natalie Place.

The Serious Crash Unit will examine the scene.
