One person dies after two trucks crash on SH1 in Tokoroa

One person has died after two trucks crashed in Tokoroa in Waikato this afternoon.

Police say the crash happened at 3.55pm between "two large trucks" which were blocking both lanes of State Highway One.

A second person was taken to Waikato Hospital in a moderate condition.

The road is likely to be closed overnight, police said in a statement tonight.

They advise motorists to plan ahead as the detour in place may add about 20 minutes onto their journey.
