Police say their stations will be staffed with front counter officers again from today after more than three weeks.
Front counter services were suspended in Christchurch following the March 15 terrorist attack, because officers were needed elsewhere.
In a statement Canterbury District Commander Superintendent John Price said police are continuing to maintain a high visibility presence across the region and thanked the public for their patience during this time.
The opening hours of some police stations may remain variable, and those hours will be re-assessed daily.
The public are reminded that crimes can be reported either in the stations or by calling their local station, but emergencies should go through 111.
