Israel Dagg appears to have landed on his feet despite hanging up his boots for good last week.

Crusaders coach Scott Robertson says the 30-year-old has still been a positive factor in the team even though he is no longer a player.

"His influence is good," Robertson said.

"He’ll chip away and he just jumps into guys’ ears – he’s been there recently obviously with the end of his career and all the experiences he’s been through but he just looks back and reflects on it with a positive note.

"He builds up and gives a lot of confidence to the young fellas."

Robertson added Dagg’s colourful personality is still prominent as well.

"He’s going around and connected with everyone and chucked in a bit of music and dress sense here and there – I don’t know if it’s a good thing!"

Dagg is currently helping the outside backs prepare for Friday night’s home game against the Highlanders.
