Cyclist, 66, dies after crash with car on Tauranga-area highway

A cyclist has died after a crash involving a car in the western Bay of Plenty yesterday.

Emergency services were called to the scene, on the Te Puke Highway, at around 4.50am yesterday, police said.

The 66-year-old cyclist was transported to hospital, where he died from his injuries last night.

The investigation into the crash is continuing.
