Police are seeking witnesses to a dangerous driving incident between two cars in Christchurch last week.
Police say Two vehicles, a black Subaru Legacy car and a black Jeep Cherokee station wagon, stopped after a minor crash on Anzac Drive near New Brighton Road at around 5:10pm on Wednesday, March 27.
However, after initially stopping, both vehicles drove off with one effectively pursuing the other over a distance of six kilometres.
This occurred both on Frosts Road near Travis Road and again in the Burwood Road and Prestons Road area.
Police say several vehicles along the route were forced to take evasive action to avoid crashes during the alleged offending.
Senior Constable Mike Phillips said that police take all reports of potential dangerous driving and potential harm to other motorists very seriously and that in no way was such action appropriate.
Police would like to speak with any witnesses to the incident.
Anyone with information that could assist Police with their investigation are urged to contact Christchurch Central Police on 03 363 7400 and quote file number 190402/1357.
