Eight people injured after serious crash near Rotoma, Bay Of Plenty

Eight people have been injured in a crash on State Highway 30 near Rotoma in the Bay of Plenty today.

Police were called at about 2.15pm to the crash scene near Braemar Rd which involved two vehicles.

The road has been closed and police say it could stay that way for several hours while the Serious Crash Unit investigates.

Diversions are in place and drivers are advised to avoid the area.

Members of the public with information about the crash are urged to contact the Whakatane Police Station on 07 308 5255.
