Tatler magazine, known as the Bible for the English Upper Crust, has just released a controversial article on the Duchess of Sussex.

The details are salacious, including accusations Meghan made her sister in law Kate cry, plus a cruel nickname given to her by palace staff.

Royal Commentator Victoria Arbiter says the attack is different than the usual tabloid stories doing the rounds.

"These are technically Prince Harry's people and the story is quite salacious and he will be disappointed by this.

"One of the most hurtful things is the suggestion palace staff have a cruel nickname for the Duchess, reportedly calling her 'Me Gain', suggesting she is only looking out for herself," Ms Arbiter told TVNZ1's Seven Sharp.

However, the details don't stack up for the royal expert.

"I've seen no other reference to this nickname anywhere at all so I think really we're seeing negative press with no substantiation," Ms Arbiter says.

"Long-term the bad press won't hurt Meghan, but of course it hurts in the moment," she concluded.
