England captain Harry Kane eager to try NFL switch 'in 10 or 12 years'

England football captain Harry Kane has made a stunning declaration, stating he wants to end his sporting career as an NFL kicker.

Kane, 25, is widely regarded as one of the best strikers in modern football, valued at £135 million (NZ $NZ263 million) having scored 164 goals from 249 games with Tottenham Hotspur.

S peaking to ESPN , Kane said that his love for American Football could result in an unprecedented career change, driven to succeed in a different code.

"That's real, [it's] something that in 10 or 12 years, I definitely want to try," Kane said.

"If you play in the Premier League and the World Cup, and you then play in the NFL, would you then be considered one of the greatest sportsmen ever?"

Kane is an avid fan of American Football and the NFL, with his two dogs named after quarterbacks Tom Brady and Russell Wilson.
