Members of Christchurch's emergency services will be celebrated ahead of the Warriors' clash with the Manly Sea Eagles at AMI Stadium this weekend, as a thank you for their work during the terrorist attack on March 15.
After a gunman opened fire on two separate Christchurch mosques, emergency services were a shining example of what the city needed, with police and ambulance workers pressed into action in the wake of the shootings that left 50 dead and dozens more injured.
More than 120 tickets to Saturday's clash have been gifted to St John Ambulance staff and Christchurch Hospital accident and emergency workers.
The group will also be welcomed onto the pitch prior to the match, allowing Christchurch to thank the first responders.
Promoter Justin Wallace told Stuff that the tickets had been paid for by local businesses, with the possibility of more before Saturday's match.
The clash between the Warriors and Sea Eagles will be the first major sporting event hosted in Christchurch following the March 15 attacks.
