Much of Christchurch's Muslim community no longer feel safe, following last week's attacks on two separate mosques, according to one resident.
A gunman opened fire at the Linwood and Al Noor mosques during Friday prayers killing 50 people and injuring another 50.
Bangladeshi Mohammad Omar Faruk lost his life in the shootings, with his best friend Mojibur Rahman saying he's devastated by the news.
"It's really take time, it's not going to be finished in a day only, it's will be take time, long time we'll need," Mr Raham told Reuters.
"And maybe we go to our like a normal life, it's really hard to go, it will take time."
Mr Rahman's wife Mahmuze meanwhile, says that they no longer feel safe in Christchurch, fearing other attacks in the future.
"We are now, now every Muslim people are feeling that they are not safe, because the terrorist attacked mostly the Muslim guy, because everybody feeling very scared, they are feeling that they are not safe here."
A 28-year old Australian man has been charged with murder, following last Friday's attacks.
