A man has been charged over an incident in the Christchurch suburb of Richmond in which he allegedly discharged a gun at police and was shot in the lower body almost two weeks ago.
Police say a 33-year-old man has been charged with failing to stop, assault with a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm and using a firearm against a law enforcement officer, following the incident on Tuesday February 26.
The charges are to be heard in Christchurch District Court this afternoon.
Police say no further comment will be made by them while the case is before the court.
