The head boy of an Auckland college is following in his elder's footsteps.
Joseph Johnston's dad and uncles were all head boys themselves.
Now, St Paul's College in Ponsonby reckon they have a great head boy in Joseph too.
Principal Keiran Fouhy knew he had made the right choice when the "boys spontaneously rose out of the pews and did a haka".
Being head boy was always Joseph's goal.
"I shed a few tears, yeah, it was really emotional," he told TVNZ1's Seven Sharp of achieving his dream.
Joseph also made another member of his family's dreams come true.
"I'll never forget my nana said 'I can die happy now', that was big for me."
