The Sunwolves 30-15 victory over the Chiefs in Hamilton last weekend was a proud moment for the entire rugby playing population of Japan, according to duo Dan and Kara Pryor.

With a 30-15 win at FMG Stadium, the Sunwolves secured a first ever away victory, defeating the Chiefs in style.

Speaking to TVNZ 1's Te Karere, both Dan and Kara Pryor spoke about the significance of the result for Japanese rugby.

"It was crazy," said Dan.

"I didn't think too much about it at the time, but when we won, the boys were just humming.

"People flew from Tokyo for that one game, it meant so much to the nation."

Kara's experience was slightly different, not part of the Sunwolves' playing squad for the match.

"I was watching at home with my old man," he said.

"It was the most nervous I've ever been watching a game - I've never felt like that before, I just really wanted the boys to get it.

"When the final whistle went I was so happy, I nearly drove down to Hamilton to give the boys some beers."

The Sunwolves will have the chance for another Kiwi scalp this weekend, taking on the Blues at QBE Stadium.
