Te Matatini Kapa Haka Festival 2019 came down to the wire in Wellington over the weekend, with fierce competition creating high drama.
Tens of thousands of kapa haka fans descended on the capital for Māoridom's bi-annual kapa haka showcase.
In the end, Ngā Tūmanako from West Auckland took out the big prize.
Jeremy Wells of TVNZ1's Seven Sharp caught up with winners Reikura Kahi and Kawariki Morgan at Hoani Waititi marae.
They explained the crux of their award-winning performance and talked about participating in the competition.
