Crusaders coach Scott Robertson says that he turned down lucrative overseas offers to remain in Christchurch, having today re-signed with New Zealand Rugby.

Robertson, 44, this morning re-signed with New Zealand Rugby, re-committing to the Crusaders through to the end of the 2021 season.

Speaking to media today, though, the back-to-back Super Rugby winning coach revealed that there was interest from overseas in acquiring his services.

"I only got the currency converter out once to have a look at the options overseas," he joked.

"There was a bit of interest."

Robertson also said that the decision to stay was ultimately simple, wanting continuity for his wife and his family. But he didn't rule out a later departure.

"I look at the age of our young boys, the opportunity to head away will be there in the future.

"What we've [the Crusaders] done here, and what we've achieved is something I'm really proud of.

"I will continue to add to and be a part of a great organisation...To do it for a couple more years is a real honour."
