Body found after truck crashes into river in Bay of Plenty

A body has been recovered from the scene of a serious crash near Opotiki in Bay of Plenty.

The driver of a truck and trailer had gone off State Highway 2 and into a river near Toone and Ruatana Roads shortly after 11am yesterday.

According to a police statement the body was recovered by the Police Dive Squad about 10:10pm last night.

The road will be closed from 10:30am today to enable the truck to be removed.
