Jacinda Ardern waves to locals as she takes part in Napier's Vintage Car Parade

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has been spotted waving to locals as she took part in the Vintage Car Parade in Napier this afternoon.

The 1930s-style parade comes as part of the weekend-long Art Deco Festival.

Ms Ardern, wearing a straw hat and floral dress, was joined by two children for the ride.
