Much-loved television personality John Cocks, known as Cocksy, died on Wednesday after a long battle with cancer.
He featured in a number of TVNZ’s biggest shows including the show, My House My Castle.
Tributes have flooded in overnight from those remembering him as an ‘amazing guy’ and ‘all-round great New Zealander.’
“So sad to finally get the news, he really was the man on the TV shows, no one has even come close since those amazing shows,” said Warren Knight.
Joy McNiel said “That is so sad....Cancer truly sucks! Thanks for the laughter, knowledge and entertainment mate..RIP..”
“Our condolences to his family. He was such an entertainer and all round good guy who brought out the DIY in us all,” said Sharon Mark.
"He was loved by viewers who appreciated his can-do attitude, his honesty and warmth. Our sympathies are with John's family and friends," TVNZ said in a statement.
Cocks is survived by his wife Dana Coote and three daughters.
