Car, truck towing horse float collide in Christchurch

Emergency services are at the scene of a crash involving a car and a truck towing a horse float this morning.

Police were called to the intersection of Newtons Road and Dawson Road in the Christchurch suburb of Templeton around 10:20.

Two people are critically injured, one person has serious injuries and two others are in a moderate condition.

The road is blocked and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
