There was a light-hearted moment at Labour's Martinborough retreat today when Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern was forced to step away from a press conference after a rogue bug flew down her top.
Ms Ardern was speaking to media about KiwiBuild with Housing Minister Phil Twyford when she quickly stepped away from the microphones appearing flustered.
"Sorry, there was a bug, I can't tell if it was a bug or a bee but there was something down my front," Ms Ardern said laughing as she returned.
Ms Ardern then clarified that it was a "quite large" bug that had flown at her.

"I thought that was rather dignified," she said of her handling of the situation before the questioning on KiwiBuild continued.
