When he wasn't collecting a wicket or making a stellar catch at last night's Black Clash, former All Blacks captain Richie McCaw was making sure to spend some quality time with his family.

McCaw was spotted in Team Rugby's innings on the sidelines with his wife, Gemma, and daughter, Charlotte Rose, while he waited to bat in the match - having already put in a decent effort in the field to supress Team Cricket to 168-8.

While he didn't get to bat in the end thanks to some stellar hitting from Jordie and Beauden Barrett, McCaw still earned praise from one of his biggest fans.

Gemma shared a photo after the game of their little family, captioning the photo, "How good were team rugby today?! Watch out Black Caps."

She wrapped up the post by adding, "not bad for a dad".

McCaw made a superb catch early in the contest to dismiss former Black Caps skipper Stephen Fleming for just five runs.
