Silver Ferns win double extra-time thriller over South Africa to end quad series

January 21, 2019

The Silver Ferns avoided a winless quad series in England after beating South Africa 62-60 in a double extra time thriller today.

Extra time was needed to separate the sides after the score remained locked at 45-all.

Maria Folau sunk the winning shot as the Ferns became the first team to open up a two-goal margin.

The win was also enough for the Ferns to pip South Africa for third place in the series.
