Three people in Christchurch hospital following car into power pole collision

Three people have been taken to Christchurch Hospital following a serious crash on Old West Coast Road, Darfield.

It's believed a car hit a power pole around 9:30 this morning. 

A St John spokesperson says one person is in critical condition, another in a serious condition and one moderate. 

A helicopter was dispatched to the scene, next to the Waimakariri River.

There are currently delays in both directions on Old West Coast Rd between Cooks Rd and Addingtons Rd.
