Gas leak forces evacuations in Tauranga

Businesses have been ordered to evacuate near the Strand in Tauranga this afternoon due to a potential gas leak, a Fire and Emergency spokesperson has told 1 NEWS.

Authorities said a digger caused of the incident, hitting a gas main in the area.

Police have cordoned off the area.
