Watch: First images of far side of the moon released by China's national space agency after historic probe landing

China's national space administration has released footage of its probe making the first ever landing on the far side of the moon.

The Chang'e-4 probe took 12 minutes to descend onto the moon's surface earlier this month.

The video is made up of more than 3000 images, captured by a 360-degree lens, and beamed back to Earth.

China says the landing marks a new chapter in lunar exploration.
