Man attempts to lure 16-year-old female into SUV on Auckland's North Shore

Waitemata Police are appealing to the public for information after reports a 16-year-old girl was suspiciously approached on Auckland's North Shore.

A man driving a white SUV-type vehicle approached the teenager on Porritt Avenue, in Chatswood, last Wednesday, and asked for directions before asking her inappropriate questions, opening the passenger door and asking her to get in.

Senior Sergeant Callum McNeill praised the teenager for quickly walking off and telling her parents, who reported the matter to police.

The man is described as Caucasian, aged between 35 and 45, of slim build with black hair and has two discoloured front teeth.
