A large fire which broke out in a plantation of trees in Southland this morning has been contained.
Ten fire trucks were called to the scene after the blaze began in Lumsden shortly after 11.30am, a Fire and Emergency spokesperson told 1 NEWS.
It was burning at a size of 300 metres by 50 metres.
There have been no reports of any injuries.
Five fire trucks remain on the scene to help dampen the area.
