Police release name, photo of 'dangerous' man sought in relation to South Auckland shooting

Police are seeking information regarding the location of 23-year-old Corey Jermaine Anderson, in relation to yesterday's Otara shooting.

Anderson is considered dangerous, and police advise that he should not be approached be the public.

The appeal comes after a 28-year-old man was shot in the stomach in the South Auckland suburb yesterday morning.

The victim has since been taken to and treated at Middlemore Hospital, in a serious but non-life threatening condition.

Detective Senior Sergeant Kevin Tiernan said police are appealing for any sightings of a Purple Audi A3 Hatchback, registration ELL259, as part of their pursuit of "strong lines of enquiry".

Anyone with information on Anderson’s whereabouts are asked to call Police on 09 261 1300 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
