Two elderly people have been hospitalised after a kitchen fire at a Dunedin property this evening.

Fire and Emergency says the pair are being transported to hospital, one has minor burns and one is being treated for smoke inhalation. 

The fire broke out just after 5pm today, with fire and ambulance attending the scene.
